Ace Bates Skip Hire Ltd is preparing a planning application for a new, modern waste transfer facility on lands at Duncrue Place and Duncrue Link (Nos. 1-9).
Welcome to the public consultation website on behalf of Ace Bates Skip Hire Ltd for a proposed new waste transfer station, located adjacent to their current site at Duncrue Place, Belfast.
The proposed development would modernise existing waste management operations on the site by delivering an enclosed purpose-built facility designed to support the efficient handling, sorting and transfer of waste materials within an already established industrial location.

About the Applicant
Ace Bates Skip Hire is a waste management company based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Established in 1997, the company provides skip hire and waste collection services to residential, commercial and construction customers across Belfast and the wider Greater Belfast area.
As part of its operations, the company manages waste received through its skip hire and collection services and operates a waste transfer and recycling facility. The facility is used to sort, process and transfer waste materials for recycling, recovery or disposal at appropriately authorised facilities.
The proposed development forms part of the company's ongoing operations and seeks to provide a modern replacement facility to support current and future waste management requirements.

Where is the Proposed Site?
The site is located at Duncrue Place and Duncrue Link (nos. 1-9), Belfast and extends to approximately 1.27 hectares.
The site is already in use as a Materials Recovery Facility, supporting waste acceptance, storage, processing, recycling, recovery and onward transportation. The site avails of an extant planning permission for this facility (Z/1998/2772/F) which was lawfully commenced and remains operational. All on site activities are governed by prevailing waste management legislation and authorised by a Waste Management Licence which is regulated by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA).
The site is located within an established commercial and industrial area at Duncrue, within the Belfast Harbour Estate and the M2 motorway. The surrounding area includes a range of industrial, employment, processing and waste management uses.
